The St. Louis Business Journal has selected the finalists for its 2009 Health Care Hero awards.

Dr. Robert Belshe, Saint Louis University School of Medicine, and Dr. Anthony Rejent, SSM Cardinal Glennon Children’s Medical Center, will be honored as the Lifetime Achievement winners.

The finalists in the other categories include:

• In Allied Health: Isaac Butler, Express Scripts; Gabe Grossberg, Delmar Gardens Enterprises; and Frantz Sanon, Advance Building Associates;

• In Community Outreach: Debbie Bly, Barnes-Jewish Hospital; Eileen Hedrick, Martha’s Hands; Deborah Manne, Saint Louis University Cancer Center;

• In Innovation: Clifford Adkins, ARC Products; Dr. Matthew Ellis, Siteman Cancer Center; Dr. Sonny Saggar, Downtown Urgent Care;

• In Nurses: Maggie Loyet, St. John’s Mercy Medical Center; Sally Rundquist, St. John’s Mercy Medical Center; Charlotte Smock Brooks, St. Louis Children’s Hospital;

• In Physicians: Dr. Bruce Bacon, Saint Louis University School of Medicine; Dr. Jeffrey Bailey, Saint Louis University Hospital; Dr. James Hinrichs, SSM Health Care;

• In Public Policy: Linda Goldstein, City of Clayton; Ronald Levy, Missouri Department of Social Services; Steve Lipstein, BJC HealthCare.

The finalists will be honored at an awards dinner Oct. 1 at the Purser Center at Logan College, 1851 Schoettler Rd. in Chesterfield. The cocktail reception begins at 6 p.m. with dinner and the awards ceremony following it at 7 p.m. The event is sponsored by Anthem Blue Cross Blue Shield.
